In an address June, 2011, President Obama said, “Of course, there's been a real debate about where to invest and where to cut, and I'm committed to working with members of both parties to cut our deficits and debt. But we can't simply cut our way to prosperity.”

Pete Sorenson, an Oregon local official – Lane County commissioner said recently: “Whatever the ultimate solution to our county funding issues, history has taught us that we can't cut our way to prosperity.” Sorenson, a former Congressional aid and former State Senator, is a Democrat in a liberal state.

And in October of last year, Texas Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus was quoted as saying: ‘…I think at some point you can’t cut your way to prosperity.;”

That leaves us with three questions:
1. Can we spend ourselves to prosperity?
2. Can we drink ourselves sober?
3. Why is TX (Republican) Speaker of the House Straus channeling what liberal democrats are saying?
