The New Hampshire chapter of Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) today called on Governor John Lynch to a public debate, one-on-one, with “Honorary” AFP Foundation Chairman Tom Thomson to explain Lynch’s position on the Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) tax. AFP Foundation has been educating citizens on the potential negative economic outcomes of the LLC tax, which was implemented via HB 2 last June.
“Americans for Prosperity Foundation wishes to provide the citizens of New Hampshire an opportunity to hear first hand Governor Lynch’s position on the LLC tax issue,” stated Corey R. Lewandowski. “In the interest of open and honest government, we hope Governor Lynch will accept our invitation for a one-on-one debate to allow the 43,000 small business owners, who are the backbone of the New Hampshire economy, a chance to understand the Governor’s position on this job-killing income tax on small businesses,” Lewandowski continued.
According to a recent news article, Governor Lynch has privately reached a consensus to repeal the LLC tax which the state was counting on to raise $15 million a year. Democratic sources said “that political opponents skillfully stoked fears among [other] small business owners…”
“Tom Thomson, the son of legendary New Hampshire Governor Mel “Ax the Tax” Thomson, has a long history of fighting overreaching state government regulations,” said Lewandowski. “From the view tax to the LLC tax, Tom has been a long time advocate for the hard working men and women of this state. He will provide a balanced taxpayer perspective in this debate.”
