A law suit has been filed by the union group UNITE-HERE in an effort to stop the bailout of Morgan Stanley's Revel Casino project.

The union group is pushing to have the issue put to the voters via an initiative and referendum (I&R).

In January, the union collected over 18,000 signatures on a petition to have the measure put on the ballot. But legislators in the Senate derailed the effort by writing legislation to strip away voters' referendum rights.
