Americans for Prosperity Warns Titus: ‘Nevadans Won’t Forget’ Crucial Votes
Health care vote brings tax hikes, Medicare cuts; has already cost jobs

ARLINGTON, Va. – A new television ad starting today in Nevada’s 3rd congressional district urges citizens to contact Rep. Dina Titus (D) and tell her that they will not forget her vote for the health care takeover. To view the ad, click here.

“Americans opposed a health care takeover, but Dina Titus ignored us and voted with Nancy Pelosi for big-government health care,” the ad says, citing the $1-trillion cost of the overhaul and its tax hikes and Medicare cuts.

“And now, a non-partisan congressional committee says people making less than $200,000 will pay more in taxes. Dina Titus cast her vote. Tell her: Nevadans won’t forget.”

The $100,000 ad buy will run on cable in the district for one week. It is part of Americans for Prosperity’s November Is Coming initiative – providing citizens a mechanism to tell their legislators if they vote for freedom-killing legislation, like the government takeover of health care, cap-and-trade, and more bailouts, then citizens will vote against them in November.

“Our elected officials have to know they’re going to be held accountable for their votes,” said Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity. “Their decisions are already killing jobs and raising taxes, and our economy can’t afford it.”

More than 368,000 Americans have signed the November Is Coming petition at www.NovemberIsComing.com telling their elected officials that “If you vote Yes to big government programs or any other freedom-killing legislation, I will vote NO on you in the next election.” The petition goes on to say that the citizen signing the petition will vote against the elected official: 

“If you voted yes to the government takeover of health care; vote yes to cap-and-trade energy taxes or fail to stop any related EPA regulation; vote yes to any more bailouts; or fail to stop any attempts to regulate the Internet.”
