Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle has introduced a city budget that asks for $44 Million in new taxes and increases city spending by 11%. There is nothing subtle about Jim Suttle's liberal tax-and-spend policies. Tens of millions in new taxes will make it even more difficult for struggling families and small-business owners to make ends meet. Higher taxes will deter new jobs, which are desperately needed, from coming to Omaha.

Huge spending proposals, such as $7 Million for pay increases for police and firefighters, $1.2 Million for civilian pay increases, $2.2 Million more for advertising and marketing and huge pay increases for key Suttle administration bureaucrats, are what keeps Omaha from moving forward. We simply cannot afford Suttle's new spending.
