Say No to 20% Raise for Lincoln's Mayor

Lincoln’s mayor will receive a 20% salary increase, if a committee that Mayor Beutler appointed has its way. With salary increases recommended over two years, the salary would increase by over $25,000 to $100,000 annually.

Mayor Beutler already makes 50% more than the average Lincolnite (who makes $50,504). Does the mayor need a 20% raise in an economy when the average family is only seeing their income rise 2.5% (if they are fortunate enough to have a job)?

Contact the City Council today at council@lincoln.ne.gov or call (402) 441-7515 – tell the Council it is inappropriate that a committee selected by the Mayor is now recommending a whopping 20% salary increase!

We do not begrudge anyone earning a decent salary for hard work. Yet, when the Mayor already makes so much more than the average taxpayer, it is simply wrong in a difficult economy to ask taxpayers to fork over an extra $25,000 for the mayor’s salary.

Call the City Council today and tell them that in these difficult economic times taxpayers cannot afford to give the mayor a 20% raise.

Thank you for all you do!
