Victory with the Nebraska Board of Education Fighting Federally Unfunded Earmarks

Another victory to report for our grassroots advocates. An unprecedented number of taxpayer advocates contacted the Nebraska State Board of Education to demand responsible spending from Washington, D.C. – and they listened!

Late last week the Board of Education took up a resolution denouncing federally unfunded mandates. This resolution was brought by Board member Bob Evnen because of his disgust with the federal health care reform bill that will cost Nebraska alone over $526 million in taxpayer dollars.

By a unanimous 7-0 vote the board adopted the resolution and sent a clear message to politicians like Sen. Ben Nelson that Nebraskans are tired of the federal government’s irresponsible spending.

This would not have happened without your help.

Of course we cannot stop with non-binding resolutions, and we will not! Soon we will unveil a November is Coming plan that will give you the opportunity to be directly involved in educating Nebraska voters on the very important realities facing this nation in the upcoming elections.

AFP-Nebraska will be working with activists across the state to do door-to-door citizen education, phone banking to talk about the important issues facing the nation and other important activities to help you make a difference for free enterprise and personal liberty this November.

So we will be talking with you soon, but during this holiday weekend take time to reflect on how you are making a difference.

Thank you for everything you do!
