On September 16th, emails were sent to all New York State Assembly members and Senators asking them their stance, FOR or AGAINST the repeal of NY's own cap and trade program, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). This was the second e-mail sent and to date, we have received NO responses from any of these officials.

We need all New Yorkers to contact their elected officials and ask for them to support repeal of this job destroying initiative. Remember, all of these legislators are up for re-election this year.

The Beacon Hill Institute reports that similar legislation as proposed in the U.S. Congress would cost New York 44, 055 jobs by 2020 and up to 421,300 by 2050. The Heritage Foundation estimates that this same cap-and-trade legislation, as passed by the House of Representatives would cause gas prices to rise by 58% percent by the year 2020. Furthermore, electricity prices could rise 90%, nearly twice as much as ratepayers are experiencing today.

Call your Senator and Assembly Member to repeal this regulatory imposed initiative.
