WINDHAM – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) New Hampshire State Director Corey R. Lewandowski released the following statement on the RGGI report released by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.
“The report released by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners affirms what we have suspected all along- RGGI does not work for New Hampshire ratepayers who have seen their rates increase as a direct result from RGGI. As outlined in the report, what is indirect are many of the so-called benefits to our state which very much like the global warming problem they set out to solve seem to be floating in the air somewhere and unable to be counted or measured,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire.
“The results that can be counted indicate that New Hampshire is not receiving an equal share of the alleged benefits the program has to offer. New Hampshire workers accounted for less than 3% of the total number of jobs created since the RGGI experiment began three years ago, and some of those are cited as temporary or part-time jobs. Yet 100% of New Hampshire ratepayers have seen their rates increase. New Hampshire ratepayers cannot wait three more years to reap any indirect results of this program that may or may not be coming. The time to pull the plug on RGGI is now,” Lewandowski concluded.
