READ MOREThe US Senate completed their votes on five budget resolutions last night. All five budgets failed, even though they needed just 51 votes to pass. Here are the details:
* Just like last year in the Senate and earlier this year in the House, President Obama’s budget (S.Con.Res. 41) was unanimously rejected by a vote of 0-99.
* Despite AFP’s key vote in support, both the House-passed Ryan budget (H.Con.Res. 112) and Senator Pat Toomey’s “Restoring Balance” budget failed. The votes were 41-58 for Ryan and 42-57 for Toomey.
* Two additional conservative budgets failed by a larger margin. Senator Rand Paul’s “Revitalizing America” budget (S.Con.Res. 42) failed by a vote of 16-83. Senator Mike Lee’s budget that mirrored a Heritage Foundation plan (S.Con.Res. 44) failed by a vote of 17-82.
