You are invited to join us for an Americans for Prosperity-Kansas grassroots meeting this week in Newton.

We’ll be meeting in the basement of the Harvey County Courthouse (800 North Main St., Newton) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. The topic of discussion will include:

• The state of the state’s economy
• How Kansas compares to other states
• Using competition to grow our state’s economy

State representative Marc Rhoades will be our featured guest speaker for the grassroots meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Harvey County Courthouse.

Americans for Prosperity's Wichita area chapter will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at the Alford Branch of the Wichita Public Library (3447 S. Meridian). We'll be watching a DVD presentation of "Making Economics Come Alive" with John Stossel, followed by a group discussion.

On Sept. 13 the Wichita City Council will be holding a public hearing to consider approval of millions of dollars of public incentives being offered to the downtown Douglas Place project developers.

Join us at 7pm Sept. 12 in the meeting room of the Wichita Public Library's Alford Branch (3447 S. Meridian)for a citizen's call to action.

  • Learn about the incentive programs being offered.
  • Getting involved in this issue as a citizen.
  • Consider testifying before the City Council.
  • Consider attending the council meeting to show your support for other speakers.
  • Please attend and participate in a group discussion to share ideas on how you can make a positive difference in local city government.
