TALLAHASSEE – Americans for Prosperity-Florida, the nation’s premier free market grassroots organizing group, issued the following statement in reaction to Gov. Scott’s state of the state address today.
“Florida saw many great reforms in 2011, but there is much work still to be done. While $4.5 Billion was cut from the state budget last year, Florida still faces a $2 Billion shortfall,” said State Director Slade O’Brien. “AFP-Florida supports Gov. Scott’s proposals to balance the budget and create new and desperately-needed jobs here in the
Sunshine State.”

West Palm Beach—The Florida chapter of the free market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-FL) today applauded U.S. House candidate Joe Goldner (20th District) for signing the group’s “No Climate Tax Pledge.” Goldner joins more than 575 bipartisan lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”
AFP-FL State Director Slade O'Brien commented:
READ MOREThe one thing elected officials should agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses. We encourage all of Florida’s elected officials and candidates for elected office to sign the pledge.
