Americans for Prosperity Foundation Hawaii teamed up Hawaii Pacific University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the HPU Entrepreneurship Center on July 29th to celebrate the anniversary of Milton Friedman’s 99th birthday, his legacy and his free market concepts that have helped improve the lives of entire populations around the world.
Prof. Ken Schoolland began the event with an introduction of Dr. Friedman’s ideas on monetary policy, free trade, school choice, ending the prohibition of marijuana and elimination of the draft. Friedman’s ideas were controversial among status quo thinkers throughout much of his life, but history ultimately proved his economic theories correct and Keynesian theories wrong.
