Last night’s state senate recall elections where the GOP held its majority in the face of a $20 million union and left-wing assault demonstrates that standing for lower taxes, less spending and reform of outrageous public union pensions is a winner with the people.

Fed up with years of failed big government, last fall Wisconsin citizens took their state in the direction of economic prosperity by rejecting the Left and electing an entire slate of free market GOP candidates from state assembly to governor.

Earlier this year, Gov. Walker and Republican legislators followed through on their promises by introducing a truly bold Budget Repair Bill that dramatically cut the state’s bloated spending, held the line on taxes and reformed the outlandish public employee pensions and health benefits. These pensions and benefits were far beyond anything folks in the private sector receive.
